Relationship Terrorism

It was a few months ago that I first mentioned this topic in passing.

Well, today let's face - RELATIONSHIP TERRORISM.

And there you were thinking that terrorism referred only to suicidal bomb-carrying fundamentalists or gun-toting idealists shooting up places of learning or worship. We forgive you for that wrong assumption...

  • For your information, if you have a partner or significant other and you do not treat them kindly - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • If you do not feed your significant other well (and I do not care if he/she can consume a whole sack of rice in a week, you should have done your due diligence while courting) - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • If you have what we refer to as a sharp tongue, where before your significant other says one word, you are able to dispense 500 syllables a second with annoying precision, touching on sensitive issues so as to humiliate, embarrass or generally make them feel bad - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • If you do not have the words 'I am sorry' and 'Thank you' in your vocabulary - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • If you never make mistakes and your significant other is always at fault - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • If you always take the best (and largest) portion of a mouthwatering roasted chicken, beef or fish during a meal - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • If you insist on winning all arguments - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • The fact that you think about winning or losing arguments, instead of thinking 'why should you have arguments in the first place?' means - you are a Relationship Terrorist.
  • In fact, if you think this article of mine does not make sense - you are a Relationship Terrorist.

So there you have it. Be rest assured this list is by no means exhaustive.

Relationship Terrorism is capable of causing emotional and even physical trauma to the victim as well as the perpetrator.

It is bad for both parties, worse for society and even worst if there are 'accessories after the fact' i.e. children. This is because they may be scarred for life from living in such environments.

Avoid relationship terrorism and save lives as each one is precious...

...ok let me rephrase that - save lives, as each GOOD one is precious.

What thoughts came to your mind when you read this? Do you agree with it?

Let me know ...
