I was reading one of Dan Kennedy's books the other day and came across a very powerful statement that got me thinking. It was that profound!
As a matter of fact he thought so too, because he heard it, from a lady psychologist, over the radio while he was driving BUT he parked his car to write it down! That was how important he felt it was.
I know, I know ... you are wondering what kind of statement that must be, right? You want me to cut through the chase and tell you what it is, right?
Calm down, I will in a short while.
First, let me ask you a question. Are you in charge? Now do not get me wrong here. I am not asking whether you effectively boss over your junior colleagues at work, even though you might be a 'mouse' to your spouse or better half (why must it be half? why not a quarter? hmmm ... a topic for another day).
Even in the off chance that you are the 'terrorist' in your relationship, I am also not referring to that kind of 'charge'. Oh! And in case you are a 'relationship terrorist', kindly take yourself to the nearest worship centre of your faith and seek deliverance ...
Now back to our discussion. My full question is - "Are you in charge of YOUR LIFE?"
You see many people think they are and it turns out that is not the case. But that is not the worst thing - the worst thing is not even knowing you are not in charge!
Now to the profound statement that made Dan Kennedy park his car.
"You will continue to be unhappy as long as you depend so much on others to make you happy."
In other words, if that explains you or your life then sorry to break it to you - YOU ARE NOT IN CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE!
So what do you think? Is that a profound statement or what?
How do you feel about it? What thoughts came to your mind when you read it? Do you agree with it?
Let me know ...
